Call for papers: International Journal of Data Science and Analytics

Special Issue on Data Science and AI in Marine Science and Blue Economy

The role of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Marine Science has become increasingly pivotal, influencing observation techniques, operational methodologies, and the sustainable utilisation of marine resources. This special issue invites submissions of cutting-edge, high-quality research and innovative findings within the realms of AI, data science, and scientific workflows in marine science.

Contributions emphasising Open Science and the FAIR principles are strongly encouraged.

Key Areas of Interest:

Submissions across all facets of AI, Data Science, and Scientific Workflows are welcome. This includes but is not limited to statistical and mathematical modeling, knowledge representation and discovery, machine learning, deep learning, simulation, visualization, and inventive task compositions related to the acquisition, integration, reduction, visualization, and publication of data in marine applications.

Scope:

We invite interdisciplinary perspectives, position papers, reviews, theoretical contributions, and practical advancements that synergize AI, Data Science, and machine/deep learning within the domain of marine science. We particularly seek novel technical advancements and substantial real-world applications. Papers focusing on Open Science and FAIRness approaches are highly encouraged. Additionally, survey, position, and vision papers are welcomed.

Submission Guidelines:

Submitted manuscripts should be original, not previously published, and not currently under review elsewhere. Authors are requested to include a statement detailing the significant and original contributions of their work concerning the current state-of-the-art progress. Any journal versions of previously published conference papers must contain substantially new content, appropriately highlighted at the time of submission.

All submissions will undergo a rigorous review process within the editorial system. Accepted papers will be published online before inclusion in the hard copies of the special issue.

Manuscript Submission Details:

Papers should adhere to the JDSA template and be submitted to JDSA via the online submission portal here. There is no specific page limitation. Authors are urged to follow the author’s guidelines outlined by JDSA available on their journal website.
